About The Event

Natural materials and traditional methods will be used

The objective of the offering is to assist and support the participants to

assimilate the skills involved in making a traditional style frame drum which

our ancestors used to connect with the unknown and the anima mundi.

These instruments morphically resonate with our primal past and assist us in

making connection in the present.

Space will be made available to experiment with these ancient sounds during

the workshop.

Participants will learn about building a traditional style frame drum using

natural materials. The teaching will be hands-on, and each person will be

supported to build their own drum. The materials used: -Steam bent 14x18 inch

wooden hoop, goat or deer hide, leather, natural waxed thread, native gorse

wood and sheep wool handle, Ash wood beater and sheep wool. These materials
